WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT...

MARA NAPA CAMPS was created by the Friends of Maasai Mara, a non-profit dedicated to wildlife conservation and the education of young people. There are two camps being built: a small luxury tent camp, and a research /photographers' camp.  Mara Napa is unique in that the focus of the camps is on sustainability of the local people. We employ strictly local Maasai and profits from the camp are directed back into community services. Guests staying at any of our camps can feel they are "making a difference", as after operating expenses are deducted, the balance of camp revenue goes towards community enrichment and the building of an education and conservation center. This center, called The Mara Napa Center, will have a gathering place for locals, a coffee house, a library, a cultural museum, a radio station, photographer's studio, computer lab, movie house, mobile vet, and drone surveillance.

AND we are the only camp in the Mara with SunSpring purified water running in all the taps. So you can brush your teeth and shower without a worry! We are very proud of our all-woman run water distribution business on site. The women provide purified bottled water to villagers and surrounding camps. Income from the business is shared by the women and the Mara Napa Center: educating and benefiting the community and empowering women.
